CAPE MENTELLE

Cape Mentelle is one of the most renowned wine producers in Western Australia, located in the stunning setting of Margaret River. It was here, in 1970, that David Hohnen, along with his brothers Mark and Giles, laid the foundation of what would become one of the region’s "founding five"—the five wineries that established Margaret River’s winemaking tradition. The winery takes its name from the cape it overlooks. The first 16 hectares of vineyards were focused on red wine production, particularly Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon. Over the years, Cape Mentelle has grown in both reputation and success. Today, the estate spans 150 hectares of vineyards dedicated to some of the world’s most celebrated international grape varieties, both red and white. The estate places a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability, promoting the use of clean energy and careful water management. Its wide range of labels offers consumers a global view of the great international varietals. Among the reds: Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, and Zinfandel. Among the whites: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Sémillon. Cape Mentelle is now part of the French luxury group LVMH.
