Barbera d'Alba doc Trevigne Domenico Clerico 2021

Prestigious Barbera d’Alba produced with selected grapes which come from the vineyards collocated in the district of Monforte, and this wine presents an intense ruby red colour. The smell presents rich and complex perfumes, with scents of cherry and mature blackberry, besides spices. This Barbera is balanced and complex, while the taste is fresh and mineral, in perfect balance with acidity. It is very good if accompanied with typical first courses of Piedmont, red wines, salami and seasoned cheeses.

In 1976, Domenico Clerico began to appoach to the world of wine. During those years, Domenico's father cultivated vineyards which he later sold to the Barolo Cooperative Winery. In 1981, Domenico decided to purchase a new plot of land, as at that time it was much more advantageous to vinify grapes:in this way he began to expand the company. Today, Domenico Clerico Winery is one of the most renowned in Piedmont, with approximately 21 hectares of vineyards producing a total of 110,000 bottles annually. The estate-owned vineyards are located in some of the best crus of the Barolo production area, including the Ginestra cru, the source of some of their most prestigious wines. The production philosophy is characterized by a balance between tradition and innovation, always striving to produce wines that best express the character of the territory and the grape variety. Vinification is carried out using modern methods and state-of-the-art equipment, but with a profound respect for traditional techniques. From Barolo to other varieties such as Dolcetto and Barbera, each wine reflects the passion that characterizes the work of the estate.
