More info

The Barolo Ginestra Pajana by Domenico Clerico is an elegant and refined red wine, produced with Nebbiolo grapes from the microzone Pajana within the renowned cru "Ginestra" in Monforte d'Alba. Visually, it presents itself with a beautiful, intense garnet red color. The bouquet is broad and ethereal, with spicy and fruity aromas, featuring notes of ripe red fruit, jam, and nutmeg, evolving into hints of licorice, cinnamon, black pepper, chocolate, and subtle vanilla. On the palate, it is warm, intense, and enveloping, full-bodied, with round and soft tannins. Pleasantly persistent, the Barolo Ginestra Pajana by Domenico Clerico pairs perfectly with roasted or stewed red meats, game, and aged or lightly blue-veined cheeses, as well as typical first courses of Piedmontese tradition. It's a wine that ages gracefully, definitely worth buying, but to be enjoyed later on.

Manufacturer

Domenico Clerico

In 1976, Domenico Clerico began to appoach to the world of wine. During those years, Domenico's father cultivated vineyards which he later sold to the Barolo Cooperative Winery. In 1981, Domenico decided to purchase a new plot of land, as at that time it was much more advantageous to vinify grapes:in this way he began to expand the company. Today, Domenico Clerico Winery is one of the most renowned in Piedmont, with approximately 21 hectares of vineyards producing a total of 110,000 bottles annually. The estate-owned vineyards are located in some of the best crus of the Barolo production area, including the Ginestra cru, the source of some of their most prestigious wines. The production philosophy is characterized by a balance between tradition and innovation, always striving to produce wines that best express the character of the territory and the grape variety. Vinification is carried out using modern methods and state-of-the-art equipment, but with a profound respect for traditional techniques. Wines produced by Domenico Clerico Winery are renowned for their elegance, complexity, and longevity. From Barolo to other varieties such as Dolcetto and Barbera, each wine reflects the passion that characterizes the work of the estate.
