Barbaresco docg Riserva Muncagota Produttori del Barbaresco 2014

This is a typical, elegant Barbaresco wine, produced with grapes deriving from the “Muncagota” territory, situated in the district of Barbaresco. The colour of this wine is dark red, with orange nuances, while the smell is really rich of complex perfumes of violet, wild rose, oriental spices and licorice. The taste is rich and warm, but at the same time persistent: in fact it is perfect if served with platters based on red meat, as roasts or braised beef, game, excellent first courses and seasoned cheeses.

In 1800 Giovanni Minuto was the owner of some estates in the locality of Barbaresco: these territories began to be used by Giovanni’s son, Luigi, in order to produce wine. Lorenzo and Mario divided the management of the winery in 1952: in that moment Mario inherited the Moccagatta’s estate, that gives the name to the cave. Today the winery is carried out by Francesco and Sergio, with the help of their sons Stefano and Martina. They work the 15 hectares of vineyards and they manage to produce about 65 000 bottles every year.
