Cascina Lanzarotti is located in Monteu Roero, in the heart of the Roero, on a hillside surrounded by vineyards and orchards. Since 1883, the Ferrero family, now in its fourth generation, has run the estate while maintaining a strong connection with the land and the family's agricultural heritage. Originally a fully diversified farm, Cascina Lanzarotti cultivated peach and plum orchards alongside its vineyards. Until the early 2000s, the estate also had a cattle barn and grew corn, wheat and forage crops. As the wine market evolved, the farm gradually transformed, reducing its fruit production and closing the cattle operation to focus increasingly on wine production. In 2020, the winery was expanded to improve both its production facilities and its hospitality areas. The Roero lies at the heart of Cascina Lanzarotti's philosophy. Careful vineyard management and an in-depth knowledge of the local terroir form the foundation of a wine production focused on expressing the distinctive character of these hills. The winery offers a selection of Roero and Piedmont wines, divided into four collections: Classici, Cru, Terroir and Fantasia. The range includes Roero Arneis DOCG, Roero Arneis DOCG Riserva Sant'Anna, Roero Nebbiolo DOCG, Langhe Nebbiolo DOC, Barbera d'Alba DOC and Barbera d'Alba DOC Superiore. The winery also produces Soelì Roero Arneis DOCG Metodo Classico, the rosé Fior di Pesco, Birbét and Bicerin da Vija, made from naturally overripe grapes. Particular attention is devoted to the territory and sustainability. Cascina Lanzarotti has obtained Equalitas certification and implements practices aimed at protecting biodiversity, preserving the environment and promoting the well-being of its collaborators. Among the estate's projects are birdhouses made from recycled materials, created in collaboration with the “I Portici” day centre in San Damiano d'Asti. This commitment to biodiversity has also led the family to complement its wine production with a small-scale production of honey. Cascina Lanzarotti wines thus tell the story of a historic Roero farm that has transformed its long-standing agricultural heritage into an increasingly focused wine estate, dedicated to enhancing the vine, the land and the many distinctive expressions of this remarkable Piedmontese territory.
