Bric del Marchese Nizza docg Coppo 2017

Bric del Marchese Nizza docg by Coppo winery is an intense and full-bodied red wine produced exclusively with Barbera grapes grown in the Bric del Marchese area, in Nizza Monferrato. Produced with a selection of the healthiest and ripest, harvested by hand grapes, the Nizza Bric del Marchese of Coppo shows a beautiful intense ruby red color tending to garnet. In the nose it expresses a rich and intense bouquet with fruity hints of cherry, ripe red fruit, violet in addition to a light spicy note. On the palate it has a good structure, it is tannic, fruity and characterized by a good persistence. A wide and complex wine, the Nizza Bric del Marchese of Coppo winery is perfect to drink in combination with tasty red meat main courses, handmade maltagliati with wild boar sauce or aged cheeses.

The history of this cave is strictly connected with the country where it is collocated, Canelli. In the first years of 1900, the founder Piero Coppo began to create sparkling wine, that earns lot of success; but some years later, the winery passed to Piero’s son, Luigi, who introduced new innovative procedures that are able to go beyond the hard situation after the war. The sons of Luigi increased the family’s property, which included Moscato, Barbera and Freisa wines, by introducing Chardonnay and Cabernet vineyards, too. The purpose of this cave is always the same: look after the products in all their aspects, in order to obtain excellent wines. Today the cave has 52 hectares of vineyards, which are situated in the locality of Canelli and they benefit of a good exposition, above all due to their position.
