More info

Barbaresco by Cantine Castello di Verduno is a red wine made with 100% Nebbiolo grapes coming from Rabajà Bass and Faset Barbaresco hills. It's an extraordinary elegant wine, perfectly balanced between intensity and texture. In the glass it is bright ruby red with garnet shades. In the nose it is fresh with hints of red berries, petals and toasted scents of wood. The sip is full-bodied, intense, with silky tannins and a pleasant persistence. Barbaresco by Castello di Verduno has a great ageing potential and is recommended with red meat main courses, braised meat, roasts, risotto and matured cheese.

Manufacturer

The history of the the Castello di Verduno winery has its roots in the 1838, the year in which Re Carlo Alberto of Savoia purchased the Castle. He entrusted the management to General Staglieno, who was a military man and an expert enologist: he obtained a great wine from the best vineyards of Nebbiolo, the Barolo of Castello di Verduno. At the beginning of 1900’s the Burlotto family became the owner of the Castle and pursued the tradition in the wine making of Savoia. Nowadays Gabriella, Elisa and Liliana Burlotto manage the property producing great red wines, obtained by the wonderful combination of tradition, natural approach and great competence.
