More info

Nebbiolo wine with a strong character: it takes the name from the homonymous vineyards, called “San Lorenzo”, situated in Barbaresco. This wine owns a great ruby red colour, while its bouquet is fruited and it includes scents of blackberry, mixed berries, blueberry and currant, besides those of red fruits, coffee, licorice, spices and dry fruit. The taste is warm and soft, with important but light tannins that make of it a noble and persistent wine. So, this wine is perfect in combination with grilled red meats, game, platters based on the famous Alba white Truffle and seasoned cheeses. Moreover, it owns a great capacity of aging.

Manufacturer

Gaja

The cave was built in 1859 in Barbaresco, in the centre of the Langhe, and all along it is recognized as one of the name-symbol in the production of Barbaresco. From the creator Giovanni to Angelo Gaja, this family has earned a great reputation in wine’s sector thanks to its attentive pursuit of quality. In the 60s years Angelo Gaja has decided to innovate the traditions and to import new productive techniques: from the destruction of the production for hectare to a greater control of fermentation temperatures, from the use of the barrique to the replacement of longer tops. The past as experience, the future as purpose: this is the philosophy of this successful winery.
