Straw yellow with greenish reflections
Wide and composite
Savoury and persistent
The “Le Rive del Bricco delle Ciliegie” Arneis by Giovanni Almondo is a rich and aromatic white wine made from carefully selected Arneis grapes grown in vineyards located at 350 meters above sea level, on sandy, calcareous, and clay-rich soils. It is aged for 10 months, partly in stainless steel and partly in ceramic vessels. In the glass, it shows a bright straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections. On the nose, it is broad and layered: ripe citrus fruits, peach, and crisp apple intertwine with white flowers, followed by more evolved hints of aromatic herbs, flint, and a distinct chalky-mineral character. On the palate, it is dry, taut, and vertical, with lively, well-integrated acidity and a saline backbone that leads to a long, clean, and persistent finish. At the table, it shows great versatility and precision, pairing naturally with raw fish, oysters, shellfish, and seafood, as well as delicate fish-based first courses, light white meats, and fresh cheeses. A wine of character and balance, combining finesse and energy, capable of expressing the deeper, more mineral side of the Roero and showing interesting bottle-aging potential.
