The wine Montevertine of the Tuscan farm with the same name, is an excellent
red wine made with Sangiovese (90%), Canaiolo (5%) and Colorino (5%) grapes.
On view, it shows an elegant ruby red color, while at nose it gets off wide scents of raspberry, currant, cherry and juniper.
In mouth, it is fresh and fruity with a well-balanced tannic body and a long and persistent final.
For these characteristics, it’s perfect if drunk in combination with red meat, game, risotto with porcini mushrooms and medium seasoning cheeses.
The Montevertine winery is located in the city of Radda in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti production area.
The origins of this domain are very ancient, but the owner Mr. Manetti decided to use the lands for producing wine only in 1967.
The first vintage of Chianti came out in 1971; in this year it obtained a great success at the Vinitaly wine fair in Verona so Mr Manetti decided to buy new lands and new vineyards to increase the production.
Today, with the founder’s death, his son Martino and the enologist Paolo Salvi who continue to follow the company’s philosophy that is to produce the great wines of Tuscan tradition, conduct the winery.
