The Ribolla of Francesco Gravner, better known as Josko Gravner is a unique wine, thanks to the careful work done in the vineyard and the excellent expositions of the vineyards. This wine ferments for 7 months in underground amphorae, without any temperature control or added yeast; then it matures in big durmast barrels for 6 years. This wine has a bright orange color; it a wine of great elegance, characterized by aromas of apricot, peach jam, aromatic herbs and beeswax. The Ribolla of Gravner is perfect if drunk in combination with mushroom or truffle dishes.
Francesco Gravner, better known as Josko Gravner, is the absolute protagonist of the Italian wine and its recent history; he is a winemaker whose name is strictly linked to the Collio of Gorizia, which he helped to make famous throughout the world. Still a teenager, Josko began making wine from the vineyards planted around his house. The real turning point comes with the use of anfore coming from Georgia for aging wines, from which the name of its wines derives. The vineyards located in the province of Gorizia, have been cultivated for over twenty years without the use of synthetic products. The careful and meticulous work in the cellar makes unique and high quality wines.
