Barbaresco docg Riserva Sottimano 2010

The Barbaresco Riserva 2010 of Sottimano is produced with Nebbiolo grapes coming from the oldest vineyards of Cotta and Paiorè Cru, in Treiso and Neive districts. It’s a high quality and complex Barbaresco wine; it shows a brilliant ruby red color some orange nuance. Its bouquet is various and intense, with fruited and floral hints of jam and violet, besides spices and vanilla ones. The taste is rich and charming, but at the same time persistent. This Barbaresco wine has important tannins and accompanies perfectly red meat roasted or braised and seasoned cheeses.

Sottimano’s winery bought the Cottà country house in 1975, but it increased its sizes, following the purchases of other near territories. The cave is a family-run-business and today it is managed by Andrea, who is an oenologist like his father, who cultivates the 14 hectares of vineyards, collocated on the hills of Neive and these vineyards belong to Andrea’s family. In this cave Andrea produces four types of Barbaresco wines and two of Dolcetto, with the add of Barbera and Brachetto’s wine production.
