More info

The Barbaresco Roncagliette by Olek Bondonio is a structured red wine with a traditional style, produced using traditional methods, with spontaneous fermentation and long maceration on the skins. After a period of aging of 20 months in large oak barrels, it has a beautiful intense ruby red color with light garnet reflections. On the nose it expresses an elegant and fine bouquet, with floral and fruity hints of violet, dried flowers, cherry, currants and raspberries, in addition to notes of spices and medicinal herbs. In the mouth it is enveloping and harmonious, well balanced and persistent, characterized by a well integrated tannic texture. With a long and pleasantly fresh finish, the Barbaresco Roncagliette by Olek Bondonio is perfect to drink in combination with roasted or stewed red meats.

Manufacturer

Olek Bondonio is the current owner of Cascina Berchialla in Barbaresco, an authentic vigneron who manages a very small but prestigious reality in the renowned Roncagliette area. The history of the winery began in 1800 thanks to Olek's grandfather who began cultivating and marketing wine, as well as giving the grapes to important producers in the area. After graduating in Agriculture and Oenology in Turin and some experiences abroad, in 1999 Olek inherited 2 hectares of vineyards of Cascina Berchialla, to which he dedicated himself with passion. He produced his first vintage in 2005. Today the hectares cultivated by Olek Bondonio are four thanks to the addition of rented vineyards in Altavilla and Neive, all managed by applying natural methods without the use of chemicals and pesticides, with the utmost respect for nature and biodiversity. In the cellar, he tries to make the most of what the terroir has transmitted to the wine, using a traditional approach with fermentations from indigenous yeasts, without filtration and clarification. Olek Bondonio's wines are a unique representation of the territory from which they derive, highly sought after, with an austere and elegant character at the same time.
