More info

The Dolcetto d'Alba "Barturot" is one of the most representative wines of the Cà Viola winery, which takes its name from the homonymous vineyard in Montelupo Albese. Produced for the first time in 1991, it is aged for 8-10 months in large casks. The Dolcetto "Barturot" of Ca' Viola shows a beautiful purple red color in the glass, exuding floral and fruity aromas in the nose, with notes of currant, marasca, violet, iris, peony. In the mouth it is warm and decisive, with an excellent body, with complex aromas and a long harmonic and fruity finish. Excellent in combination with meat risotto, it goes very well with stewed and grilled red meats.

Manufacturer

Beppe Caviola had to deal with wine since when he was a boy, attending the Enological school of Alba and then starting to work at the “Centro per l’Enologia” at Gallo, where he met Maurizio Anselmo. With Maurizio he formed a deep friendship and borrowed a tractor to start working a vineyard of Montelupo. A short time later Beppe rented the vineyard of his dreams, called Barturot, and began to vinify the grapes in the garage of his parents' house. It was in 1991 that, thanks to the suggestion of Elio Altare, he began bottling and produced his first 860 bottles of Dolcetto wine. In 1996 Beppe also decided to take advantage of the skills of taster aged over the years starting a consultancy activity obtaining excellent results. In 2005 he started the production of the prestigious Barolo wine.
