Masseto is an extraordinary wine produced with Merlot grapes sourced from various plots on the Masseto hill in Tuscany. The grapes are handpicked in 15 kg crates and vinified separately according to the vineyard parcel. The first 12 months of aging occur in barriques, with 100% new oak, while keeping the various lots separated. Subsequently, the wines are blended and returned to barriques for another year, totaling 24 months. After bottling, the Masseto 2020 is left to refine for another 12 months in the bottle before being released to the market. The Masseto 2020 presents itself with a very concentrated ruby red color, while on the nose, it reveals a rich and fruity expression, very persistent. On the palate, the wine impresses with its power, length, and balsamic notes. The tannins create a well-integrated structure, revealing an exceptional aging potential of over 30 years. It pairs beautifully with red meats, game, braised dishes, and aged cheeses. It is also perfect on its own for a meditative tasting experience.
