Masseto 2019 Tenuta Masseto

Masseto 2019 is a rich red wine, expressing its own terroir and climate condition in an authentic way. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. In 2019 they were picked up a bit later than usual and they enjoyed the warmth of September sunshine. In the glass it reveals its young vintage through a bright ruby red colour. The bouquet is fruity, with hints of cherry, plum, violet, and a charming spiced note of oak. Then, you can perceive more complex and round hints of licorice, dark chocolate, tobacco. The sip is warm, firm, with silky and soft tannins. The after-taste is pleasantly fresh and persistent. Masseto 2019 is recommended with game, braised red meat, matured cheese. It can be appeciated as meditation wine. 

The Ornellaia winery was born in 1981 thanks to the intuition of the Marchese Ludovico Antinori, which want to use the 70 hectares of his propriety for producing fine wines.
The domain is located down the Bolgheri hills, in a territory just a few kilometers far from the Mediterranean coast,where the vineyards can express themselves at the best.
In 2005 Marchesi de Frescobaldi company acquired the winery, but the philosophy of Tenuta dell'Ornellaia never changes: enhancing every nuance of the terroir, every vintage, preserving the "Ornellaia style".
Every year, starting from the release of the excellent Ornellaia 2006, the winery asks to a contemporary artist to sign some bottles and draw their labels:then they are auctioned for art fundraising. From April 2019 Masseto has its own winery; the Masseto winery is the concrete and monolithic symbol of this wine.
