Masseto is an extraordinary wine made from Merlot grapes sourced from the different plots of the Masseto hillside in Tuscany. The grapes are hand-harvested in 15 kg crates and vinified separately according to their vineyard parcel. The first 12 months of aging take place in barriques, using 100% new French oak, with each lot kept separate. The wines are then blended and returned to barriques for another year, for a total of 24 months of maturation. After bottling, Masseto 2021 was further refined in the bottle for an additional 12 months before being released to the market. This iconic Tuscan wine comes from a vintage characterized by balanced climatic conditions, allowing the grapes to achieve perfect ripeness, resulting in a wine of remarkable elegance, structure, and depth. Masseto 2021 presents itself with a deep ruby-red color. On the nose, it reveals a rich and intoxicating aromatic expression, with great persistence. On the palate, it impresses with its elegance, length, and fullness. The tannins are beautifully integrated, while the finish is savory and long-lasting.
