More info

The Rosso di Montalcino of Poggio di Sotto is an intense and full-bodied red wine produced with 100% Sangiovese grapes, cultivated in vineyards between 200 and 400 meters above sea level in the area of Castelnuovo dell'Abate. The Rosso di Montalcino of Poggio Di Sotto has a beautiful bright ruby red color and an aromatic and spicy bouquet, with fruity notes reminiscent of raspberries, currants and plums. It is a very elegant and concentrated wine, its taste is deep, harmonious and savoury. Fresh and balanced wine, with a persistent finish, it is perfect to drink in combination with second courses of red meat, game, maltagliati with meat sauce or aged cheeses.

Poggio di Sotto

The Poggio di Sotto winery was founded in 1989 and is situated on a hill south-east of Montalcino. Claudio Tipa, the owner of Collemassari, a real domaine that in addition to Poggio di Sotto includes the Montecucco and Grattamacco estates, purchased the winery in 2011. Poggio di Sotto is known all over the world for its Brunello di Montalcino, thanks to both the quality of the grapes produced in vineyards located at the foot of Mount Amiata between 200 and 400 m above sea level and to the constant search for excellence.
