Description

The Giulin by Accornero is a Barbera del Monferrato DOC that tells the authentic story of the Piedmontese territory. After traditional vinification with submerged cap and programmed remontages, the wine matures in stainless steel and 500 L French oak barrels (tonneaux) for about 12 months, preserving the varietal freshness while adding complexity to its aromatic profile. In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red color, with aromas of cherry, raspberry, and blackberry, enriched by elegant floral notes and hints of sweet tobacco, vanilla, and licorice. On the palate, it is lively and harmonious, supported by the grape's characteristic fresh acidity, fine tannins, and a persistent finish of ripe red fruit. It is a medium-full bodied wine, balanced and pleasantly savory, capable of combining drinkability with structure. The Giulin Barbera from Accornero pairs perfectly with red meats, roasts, braised dishes, agnolotti del plin, lasagna, and medium-aged cheeses. It is also excellent with traditional Piedmontese cuisine and light game. Ready to drink now, it can also evolve over 6-8 years, maintaining elegance and depth.
Why choose it:
It represents an authentic Barbera del Monferrato, a pure expression of the territory, and features an excellent quality-to-price ratio, ideal for those seeking a structured yet approachable red wine.
