More info

The Barbaresco of Moccagatta is a refined Barbaresco wine, produced with the Nebbiolo grapes, that are carefully selected. The colour of this wine is a brilliant dark red one with some orange nuances; as for the bouquet, it is various and intense, with fruited and floral hints of jam and violet, besides spices and vanilla ones. The taste is rich and charming, but at the same time persistent: these aspects make of it a noble and well-structured wine. This Barbaresco wine accompanies perfectly platters based on red meat, as roasts and braised beef, game, or in alternative platters made with the well-known Alba truffle and seasoned cheeses.

Manufacturer

In 1800 Giovanni Minuto was the owner of some estates in the locality of Barbaresco: these territories began to be used by Giovanni’s son, Luigi, in order to produce wine. Lorenzo and Mario divided the management of the winery in 1952: in that moment Mario inherited the Moccagatta’s estate, that gives the name to the cave. Today the winery is carried out by Francesco and Sergio, with the help of their sons Stefano and Martina. They work the 15 hectares of vineyards and they manage to produce about 65 000 bottles every year.
