Barbaresco docg Cole Moccagatta 2019

The Barbaresco Cole by Moccagatta is an elegant and fine red wine, produced with selected Nebbiolo grapes. Cole recalls the name of the hill where the vineyard is situated, in Barbaresco municipality.  It has a bright and intense ruby red color and its bouquet is ample, balsamic and intense, with fruity hints of small ripe red fruits and floral notes of violet. The mouth it is rich, enveloping and persistent, with a great structure. We recommend the Barbaresco Cole by Moccagatta with red meat such as roasts and braised dishes, stuffed pasta and medium aged cheese.

In 1800 Giovanni Minuto was the owner of some estates in the locality of Barbaresco: these territories began to be used by Giovanni’s son, Luigi, in order to produce wine. Lorenzo and Mario divided the management of the winery in 1952: in that moment Mario inherited the Moccagatta’s estate, that gives the name to the cave. Today the winery is carried out by Francesco and Sergio, with the help of their sons Stefano and Martina. They work the 15 hectares of vineyards and they manage to produce about 65 000 bottles every year.
