An authentic expression of Nebbiolo cultivation in the Roero area, Giovanni Almondo's Roero DOCG 2023 is produced from vineyards on the characteristic sandy hills of Montà, where the grape achieves an ideal balance of elegance, finesse, and freshness. The winery's philosophy is to highlight the unique character of the territory through respectful winemaking and a minimalist approach that enhances the true personality of Roero. In the glass, it displays a bright ruby red color with subtle garnet reflections. The bouquet opens with aromas of cherry, raspberry, and red berries, complemented by delicate floral notes of rose and violet, together with elegant hints of spice and balsamic herbs. On the palate, it is harmonious, fresh, and beautifully balanced, with silky tannins, lively minerality, and a long, refined finish. Giovanni Almondo's Roero is an exceptionally drinkable wine that combines structure and elegance while preserving the distinctive minerality of the Roero's sandy soils. It pairs beautifully with tajarin with meat ragù, agnolotti del plin, mushroom risotto, roasted red meats, braised dishes, game birds and poultry, and medium-aged cheeses.
