This wine owns a great balance and pleasantness and it is produced with the Nebbiolo grapes coming from the vineyards, situated in back of Canale, in the heart of the Roero territory. This wine presents an intense ruby red colour with some garnet-colored nuances, while the smell of it emanates scents of cherry, plum, blueberries, violet, spices, licorice, black pepper and cinnamon. The taste is warm and at the same time it is endowed with a pleasant softness and perfect balance. For its intense and persistent taste, endowed with a full body and important structure, this Roero wine is perfect if drunk together with important platters, as roasted and braised beef, game and seasoned cheeses.
The cave of Matteo Correggia produces a huge choice of wines with its grapes that derive from 20 hectares of vineyards. The wines are sons of soils, where the vineyards have their roots: sandy soils, poor of clay and of silt, but rich in mineral sails and so appropriate for the production of elegant wines and also rich and refined bouquets. Matteo Correggia inherited the cave of his family in 1985 and he decided to carry on an ambitious project: that is make and produce wines of quality in an underrated territory. Today the cave is managed by Ornella Costa, wife of Matteo, who is dead very soon.
