More info

The Roero Roce d'Ampsej by Matteo Correggia is a wine of great balance and pleasantness, produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes cultivated in own vineyards in the heart of the Roero region. After aging in wood for at least 14 months and in bottle for two years, it has an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. In the nose it emanes a large and refined bouquet, with notes of cherry, plum, blueberries, violet and spicy hints of licorice, black pepper and cinnamon. The taste is pleasantly warm and well balanced, with soft tannins. With an intense and persistent taste, full body and important structure, the Roero Roche d'Ampsej by Matteo Correggia is perfect to drink in combination with roasted and braised red meat, aged cheeses or alone at the end of meal.

Matteo Correggia

The cave of Matteo Correggia produces a huge choice of wines with its grapes that derive from 20 hectares of vineyards. The wines are sons of soils, where the vineyards have their roots: sandy soils, poor of clay and of silt, but rich in mineral sails and so appropriate for the production of elegant wines and also rich and refined bouquets. Matteo Correggia inherited the cave of his family in 1985 and he decided to carry on an ambitious project: that is make and produce wines of quality in an underrated territory. Today the cave is managed by Ornella Costa, wife of Matteo, who is dead very soon.
