More info

The Roero Roche d'Ampsej by Matteo Corregia owns a great balance and pleasantness. It is produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes coming from the vineyards, situated in back of Canale, in the heart of the Roero region. This wine presents an intense ruby red colour with some garnet-colored nuances. In the nose it emanates a wide and complex bouquet, with scents of cherry, plum, blueberries, violet in addition to notes of spices, licorice, black pepper and cinnamon. The taste is warm and persistent, with a pleasant softness and a perfect balance. For its intense and persistent taste, endowed with a full body and important structure, the Roero Roche d'Ampsej by Matteo Correggia is perfect to drink with important courses, as roasted and braised beef, game and seasoned cheeses.

Manufacturer

Matteo Correggia

The cave of Matteo Correggia produces a huge choice of wines with its grapes that derive from 20 hectares of vineyards. The wines are sons of soils, where the vineyards have their roots: sandy soils, poor of clay and of silt, but rich in mineral sails and so appropriate for the production of elegant wines and also rich and refined bouquets. Matteo Correggia inherited the cave of his family in 1985 and he decided to carry on an ambitious project: that is make and produce wines of quality in an underrated territory. Today the cave is managed by Ornella Costa, wife of Matteo, who is dead very soon.
