The Schioppettino of Dario Coos is a red wine with a great personality, which takes its name from "Schioppo", an ancient way to call the rifle, perhaps chosen to indicate its characteristic scent of gunpowder and spices. The wine shows a beautiful light ruby red color, while in the nose it develops complex and fruity aromas, typically spicy, with notes of ripe plum, cherries, spices and black pepper. In the mouth it is fresh and elegant, medium bodied, slightly sapid, herbaceous and characterized by a good persistence. The Schioppettino of Dario Coos is a perfect wine to drink in combination with aged cheeses, cold cuts or with a tasty risotto with porcini mushrooms.
The winery Dario Coos is one of the best excellences of the Udine province as well as the area of passito Ramandolo. Its origins date back to the 19th century, when the Coos family produced wine on the hills of Ramandolo; now it is a real cutting-edge winery, with modern machinery and new cellars.
