More info

The Franciacorta "Mariella" Rosè of Contadi Castaldi is an exceptional sparkling wine produced only in the best vintages. Made with a cuvée composed of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, it rests on the yests between 62 and 70 months. At sight it shows a beautiful coral pink color with amber reflections and a fine and persistent pérlage. At nose it develops a broad and composite bouquet, with notes of rose petals, berries, grapefruit, on a background of toasted bread and hazelnut. In the mouth it is fresh and balanced, well structured; it is perfect to drink in combination with smoked salmon and important fish dishes.

Manufacturer

The name Contadi Castaldi is the summary of the Franciacorta’s history, that in 1500 produced wines and food for kings and rich classes. Later, one of the many mines of this territory has given birth to a furnace. In 1800 Vittorio and Mariella Moretti, the managers of this cave, decided to transform this furnace in a cave, where even now there are the Franciacorta’s wines. Today thw einery produces 750 000 bottles every year, and it has concentrated its attention on the sparkling wine’s production.
