The Pinot Noir Riserva St. Daniel of Colterenzio winery is an elegant red wine made from grapes grown at 350 meters above sea level in the territory of Appiano and Cornaiano, in South Tyrol region. This Pinot Noir is presented in the glass with a beautiful intense ruby red color; the nose is fresh and fruity, slightly spicy and balsamic with hints of currant, cherries and mint. It is an elegant and fine wine, delicate in the mouth, well balanced and characterized by good persistence and freshness. The Pinot Noir St.Daniel Riserva of Colterenzio is perfect to drink in combination with South Tyrolean first courses, roasted red meats but it is also perfect to drink with medium aged cheeses.
The Colterenzio winery was established in 1960 by 28 wine makers, and in the course of the time more and more producers have added to them until the 300 of today: they work in a surface of 300 hectares. The quality of soils, as well as the wine of this locality was recognized around 15 before Christ., when Cornelius lodged there by laying the foundations for the Colterenzio vineyards. The cornerstones of the winery’s philosophy are naturalness, respect for traditions and use of modern technologies, in fact the three kind of wines that the cave produces, follow these ideas: there are classic wine, that people can drink everyday, Praedium wines, that are produced by Oltradige vineyards, and the great Cornell wines which have an enormous international value.
