Merlot Cornell Colterenzio 2011

The Merlot Riserva "Cornell" of Colterenzio is an excellent red wine that shows at view  a beautiful bright ruby ​​red color. Thanks to the long aging in big oak and cement barrels, it develops a fresh and composite bouquet, with pleasant notes of blackberries, small red fruits, spices and chocolate. Elegant and well-structured wine, it combines perfectly with red meats, game and aged cheeses.

The Colterenzio winery was established in 1960 by 28 wine makers, and in the course of the time more and more producers have added to them until the 300 of today: they work in a surface of 300 hectares. The quality of soils, as well as the wine of this locality was recognized around 15 before Christ., when Cornelius lodged there by laying the foundations for the Colterenzio vineyards. The cornerstones of the winery’s philosophy are naturalness, respect for traditions and use of modern technologies, in fact the three kind of wines that the cave produces, follow these ideas: there are classic wine, that people can drink everyday, Praedium wines, that are produced by Oltradige vineyards, and the great Cornell wines which have an enormous international value.
