The oenological history of Vietti's cave goes back up the end of 800, when Carlo Vietti gave birth to a winery in the territory of Castiglione Falletto, in the province of Cuneo: the first bottle of Vietti's Barolo comes from 1873. After the death of Carlo, his son Mario and then the son-in-law of this last enter the cave: Alfredo Currado, the son-in law of Mario is oenologist since 1952 and he managed the winery with his wife Luciana. Both passionate of art, they have decided to create the Wine’s collection with Author Labels. Since 1983 the cave is passed in the hands of Mario Cordero, the son-in-law of Alfredo, who, after some experiences in Europe, has decided to give the management of the winery to Luca Currado. In 2016 the historic winery was acquired by Krause Holdings, enabling Luca and his wife Elena, always at the head of Vietti brand, to add a number of prized crus to the estate’s holdings, and be able as a result to look to a future with new, stimulating prospects.
