More info

The Chianti Classico Tenuta Fizzano by Rocche delle Macie is obtained by Sangiovese grapes (minimum 90%) and a small part of Colorino grapes coming exclusively from a 35 hectares single vineyard in the Fizzano estate. Thanks to the particular composition of the soil and the ideal south-west exposure, an elegant and intense wine is obtained, with an excellent aging potential. The refinement in 35 hl French oak barrels lasts about two years, while a small part ages in 225 lt barriques for a few months. With a beautiful intense ruby red color, in the nose it develops intense and fruity aromas with notes of small red fruits, cherries on a background of spices and hazelnuts. In the mouth, it is warm and well balanced, pleasantly sapid and persistent. The Chianti Classico Tenuta Fizzano by Rocche delle Macie is excellent to drink in combination with roasted meat, game and aged cheeses.

Manufacturer

The origins of Rocche delle Macie date back to 1973 when Italo Zingarelli, a famous Italian film producer, decided to abandon his film career and buy the "Le Macie" estate. It consisted of 93 hectares of land, only two of which were planted with vineyards. Thus, Italo began his small wine production, immediately conquering a large number of admirers. Soon he managed to pass on his enthusiasm and love for the Tuscan land to his sons Sergio, Sandra and Fabio. Today the company owns six estates: Le Macie, Sant'Alfonso, Riserva Fizzano and le Tavolelle in the Chianti region, Campo Maccione and Casamaria in the Morellino di Scansano region. It cinsiste of 500 hectares in total, of which more than 200 are cultivated with vineyards and about 22 are cultivated with olive groves. The main objective of the company is to produce great quality wines, with complete respect for the environment and the ecosystem, trying to make the most of the territory. The wines produced are unique and unmistakable and have a huge success both in Italy and abroad.
