D'Antan La Scolca 2009 (Boxed)

The D'Antan by La Scolca is an extremely fine and noble white wine, produced only in the best years with a selection of the best cuvées initially destined for the production of Gavi dei Gavi Etichetta Nera. The refinement in steel and on its own indigenous yeasts can last up to 10 years. At sight it shows a beautiful straw yellow color with slight greenish reflections, characterized by a beautiful natural clarity obtained after the natural decantation without being subjected to filtration. The nose reveals a wide and intense bouquet, fresh and savory, with mineral, sweet and fruity notes. When tasted, it impresses with its power and finesse, its harmony and balance, accompanied by a pleasant minerality. The D'Antan by La Scolca is a unique white wine and it an excellent meditation wine to drink alone after dinner. It is also excellent as an accompaniment to aged cheeses.

Tenuta La Scolca is managed by Chiara Soldati, the Giorgio Soldati's daughter. The history of the La Scolca Estate dates back to 1919 when Giorgio's great-grandfather decided to buy it though woods half covered it and half was used to cultivate wheat. He had the intuition to plant Cortese vineyards. With a vineyard area of around 50 hectares, today La Scolca represents one of the oldest and most renowned estates in the Gavi area. The main objective of the Soldati family is to maintain the fame and quality that distinguishes them. Work in the vineyard is extremely meticulous and with low environmental impact, while in the cellar all the best techniques are used to enhance and preserve the organoleptic characteristics of the grapes coming from different vineyards. La Scolca wines are distinguished by their elegance and freshness, their aromas and their great personality.
