Elegant and silky
The Nebbiolo d’Alba Superiore “San Sebastiano” by Cascina Penna–Currado is made from grapes grown in the vineyards of Monforte d’Alba, in the San Sebastiano area. The calcareous-sandy soils, together with the altitude and the fresh breezes of this region, give the wine elegance and finesse. After a 5-day cold maceration, it is vinified with a simple, traditional alcoholic fermentation, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged in wooden barrels for 12 months. The result is a Nebbiolo that is complex, harmonious, and deeply expressive of its terroir, with a beautiful deep garnet-red color. On the nose, it reveals an intense and refined bouquet of ripe red fruits — cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry — enriched by floral notes of rose and violet on the finish. On the palate, it is elegant, velvety, and vibrant, with silky tannins and a long, harmonious finish that invites the next sip. Food pairings: traditional Piedmontese dishes such as agnolotti al plin, brasato al Barolo, grilled meats, flavorful risottos, porcini mushrooms, and aged cheeses.
