The Barbera “Vigna Martina” of Elio Grasso, is an excellent red wine that after aging in oak barriques, spends further 8 months in bottle before being put on the market, in order to enhance its quality. On view, it shows an intense ruby color, while its bouquet is floral and fruity, with notes of violet, red fruits, berries in addition to lightly spiced notes on the final. In mouth, it is wide and sapidwith tannins well integrated in the wine structure. It is perfect to drink with cured meats, roasted meats, feather game and medium seasoning cheeses.
The Elio Grasso winery was founded in Monforte d'Alba, in a region with a strong oenological vocation, in the heart of the production area of the king of wines: the Barolo. First of all, Elio and his family love to define themselves as "peasants", to reaffirm the importance of the "earth" as an absolute value. Starting from 1978, thanks to the diversification of production between Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto and Chardonnay, the winery produces 90000 bottles every year.
