More info

The Roero Sru of Monchiero Carbone is a red wine obtained by an accurate selction of the best Nebbiolo grapes in the vineyard. It shows a brilliant ruby red colour and it smells nice with a strong and complex bouquet with fruity scents of plum, and blackberries. The taste of it is sapid and warm, with an elegant structure and non intrusive tannins. Persistent and soft, this Roero is perfect to drink in combination with roasts and braised beef, Piedmontese boiled meat, grilled fillet, game and seasoned cheese.

Manufacturer

Situated in Canale and in the heart of the Roero area, Monchiero Carbone winery has been founded in 1987. Marco Monchiero, a well-known enologist, and his wife Lucetta Carbone decided to unite the plots of their two families, who began to make wine at the beginning of 1900 and stopped a few years ago. The production of wine restarted in 1990, also because of the son Francesco who began to have enological studies. In the last years, the estate has grown up, thanks to the implantation of new vineyards: one of Arneis grapes on the Renesio hill, in Canale, and another one of nebbiolo grapes in the Anime hamlet. Mombirone and Printi vineyards, which are families propriety from many years, has been doubled.
