Rosso Piceno DOC Tenuta Pongelli is produced assembling Montepulciano and Sangiovese wines. Thanks to the fresh and sunny climate, grapes develop very elegant scents.
The colour is maroon with intense and bright shades. The bouquet is fruity with notes of plum, spices, Mediterranean herbs. The sip is balanced, intense and sapid. You can clearly catch ripe red fruits, cherries, toasted notes. It can be paired with seasoned salami, grilled and roasted meat, game.
Bucci family comes from Montecarotto, a town within Castelli di Jesi area in Marche. They are devoted to agriculture as far back as 1700. Vineyards cover about 31 hectares, whose 25 allocated to produce Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC and 6 to produce Rosso Piceno DOC, made up of Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes. The yearly production counts 700 quintals of Verdicchio and 300 quintals of Rosso Piceno: the whole income comes from the property vineyards only. Bucci is famous for extra-virgin oil, too. Both vineyards and olive tree groves are cultivated using biological techniques for more than 20 years. The winery also owns 350 hectares where durum and soft wheat, corn, sugar beets, peas, seeds and sunflowers are cultured.
