Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC Classico Superiore Bucci is an iconic wine, where the perfect balance between elegance and strong personality takes place. It’s vinified with 100% Verdicchio grapes coming from Villa Bucci vineyard in Montecarotto, at 350 meters high. The vineyard is 45 years old and East-exposed.
The wine is intense pale yellow; the bouquet is elegant, fruity and floral where notes of apples, acacia and almond are perceived. The sip is fresh, sapid and persistent, the after-taste recalls almond scents. Try it with shellfish, fresh cheese, mozzarella or fish soups.
Bucci family comes from Montecarotto, a town within Castelli di Jesi area in Marche. They are devoted to agriculture as far back as 1700. Vineyards cover about 31 hectares, whose 25 allocated to produce Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC and 6 to produce Rosso Piceno DOC, made up of Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes. The yearly production counts 700 quintals of Verdicchio and 300 quintals of Rosso Piceno: the whole income comes from the property vineyards only. Bucci is famous for extra-virgin oil, too. Both vineyards and olive tree groves are cultivated using biological techniques for more than 20 years. The winery also owns 350 hectares where durum and soft wheat, corn, sugar beets, peas, seeds and sunflowers are cultured.
