The Gewurztraminer “Reserve” of the Domaine Weinbach is a very fine wine.
The demaine takes its name from the small river that runs through all the estate.
On view, it shows a straw yellow color with golden nuances. It gets off wide spicy flavors of cinnamon and cloves, while in mouth the taste is delicate and persistent.
It is perfect to drinking chilled as an aperitif or in combination with first courses of fish, crustaceans and herbaceous cheeses.
The estate of Domaine Weinbach is settled at the foot of the majestic hill of Schlossberg and it is surrounded by roses and vineyards. The history of this estate goes back up 1612, when some friars decided to build a monastery, which was confiscated and sold during the French Revolution. In 1898, the Faller brothers bought and transformed it in a place where they expressed their passion for Alsace wines. The name itself Domaine Weinbach derives from a small water course that crosses the winery, while Weinbach was the original name of the old monastery. Today the property includes 27 hectares and it is managed by Faller’s family, because they have bequeathed from generation to generation their wines passion. The vineyards have some important geological features and they benefit by privileged exhibitions in the Kaysersberg valley. From these vineyards derives a huge choice of wines, which are characterized by elegance and grace.
