Bolgheri Rosso doc Grattamacco 2019 Magnum

The Bolgheri Rosso of Grattamacco is an elegant and fine red wine, obtained from 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot and 10% Sangiovese cultivated in the hills around Bolgheri. The wine has a beautiful ruby red color, while in the nose it is intense and fruity, with hints of red fruit such as cherry, balsamic and spicy notes, in addition to a pleasant mineral note on the final. The palate is fresh, savory, intense and characterized by a good balance and a tannic and persistent finish. The Bolgheri Rosso of Grattamacco is perfect to drink in combination with main courses of meat, such as roasts or braised meats, or typical Tuscan cold cuts.

Grattamacco, founded in 1977 by Piermario Meletti Cavallari from Bergamo, is the second company in the history of the DOC Bolgheri. Claudio Tipa, the owner of Collemassari and friend of Piermario Meletti Cavallari, bought it in 2002. It is located about an hour’s drive from Castello Collemassari and its vineyards enjoy a particularly favorable climate, dry and with good temperature ranges. The wines of Grattamacco are elegant and refined, perfectly representative of the territory and they demonstrate their high quality from year to year. Among the various wines produced, the Bolgheri Superiore stands out, excellent wine with an excellent aging potential.
