Description

The Barbera d'Alba Marun by Matteo Correggia is a wine of great character, with a beautiful ruby red color and violet reflections. Made from carefully selected grapes from the Marun vineyard, it is the first Barbera to be aged in barriques since 1987, showcasing Matteo Correggia's expertise and skill. In the glass, it offers an expansive and enveloping bouquet, characterized by aromas of ripe red fruit, with notes of blackberries, sour cherries, and plums. These are followed by rich and intense aromas of tobacco, menthol, vanilla, toasted wood, black pepper, and nutmeg. On the palate, it is concentrated and powerful, with a persistent finish, slightly tannic, well-structured, and with a pleasant freshness. The Barbera d'Alba Marun by Matteo Correggia is a wine of great personality and versatility, perfectly paired with savory first courses, typical Piedmontese meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses. Thanks to its structure and balance, it also has excellent aging potential.
