Description

The 2023 Langhe Nebbiolo by Bartolo Mascarello is one of the most authentic and traditional expressions of the grape variety most closely associated with the rolling hills of the Langhe region. Produced from the finest grapes, harvested exclusively by hand from different parcels of the Mascarello estate, it is vinified according to the classic philosophy of the Mascarello family: spontaneous fermentations, long aging in large oak casks, and no concessions to modern winemaking styles. In the glass, it shows a bright ruby red color. On the nose, it impresses with an elegant bouquet of dried rose petals, violet, small red berries, and pomegranate, accompanied by delicate hints of aromatic herbs and balsamic notes. On the palate, it is refined, energetic, and linear, with gentle yet well-defined tannins. The finish is long and savory, with a fresh mineral lift that recalls the character of the estate’s great Barolos. The Langhe Nebbiolo by Bartolo Mascarello is ideal when paired with red meats, vitello tonnato, braised dishes, aged cheeses, and traditional Piedmontese pasta dishes. Although crafted for earlier drinking compared to Barolo, it retains remarkable depth and aging potential. It is a Nebbiolo of strong territorial identity, capable of combining elegance, tension, and purity of expression..
