The Barolo by Bartolo Mascarello is a prestigious wine, a true legend of Piedmontese winemaking whose reputation is recognized worldwide. Produced in strict accordance with tradition, this Barolo is made from a blend of hand-harvested Nebbiolo grapes sourced from several vineyards in the Cannubi, San Lorenzo, and Rué areas in Barolo, as well as from the Rocche cru in La Morra. After a long maceration and aging in large oak casks, the 2021 Barolo by Bartolo Mascarello reveals in the glass a captivating bright, luminous garnet-red color. The bouquet is extremely refined and complex, showing notes of fresh rose petals, violet, raspberry, and cherries, followed by hints of bitter orange, sweet spices, and subtle balsamic and mineral nuances. On the palate, it is a Barolo of great balance and precision: structured yet refined and energetic, with dense but already well-integrated tannins and vibrant acidity that provides lift and depth. Characterized by a long, savory, and persistent finish, Bartolo Mascarello’s Barolo is an excellent match for roasted or braised meat dishes, game, tajarin with ragù, porcini mushrooms, and aged cheeses. The 2021 Barolo by Bartolo Mascarello is a wine of extraordinary finesse, already highly appealing today, yet capable of magnificent evolution in bottle for 20–30 years. Critics indeed consider it a reference vintage, capable of combining power and grace in a perfectly traditional style.
