Porcaria Terre Siciliane Rosso Passopisciaro 2016

The Terre Siciliane Rosso Contrada Porcaria is made with Nerello Mascalese grapes grown in one of the most prestigious terroir of the Etna region. It is a rich and structured wine, which at sight shows a beautiful intense ruby red color. After aging for 18 months in oak barrels, at nose it develops a fruity and composite bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruit in addition to a background of sweet spices. In the mouth it is well balanced and structured, endowed with a long and persistent final. It is a wine that combines well with recipes based on red meat and medium-aged cheeses.

The Passopisciaro winery is one of the properties of Andrea Franchetti, made from the renovation of an ancient “baglio” on the slopes of Etna, in the city of Castiglione di Sicilia. Thanks to the sunny climate and the excellent temperature range, excellent wines are produced mainly based on Nerello Mascalese.
