More info

Roero Bricco Genestreto by Monchiero Carbone is a fine and elegant red wine, made with 100% Nebbiolo grapes harvested in Genestreto cru, in Priocca. The estate is located at a high altitude and very well exposed, counting 12 hectares or vineyard planted over 20 years ago. Thanks to the long rest in bottle for 8 years, in the glass it is brigh garnet red with semi-transparent texture. The bouquet is intense, with fruity hints of plum besides more complex notes of balsamic herb, licorice, dried flowers and sweet tobacco. The sip is enveloping, balanced and velvety. Very pleasant tannins and long persistence complete the aftertaste. Roero Bricco Genestreto by Monchiero Carbone is recommended with red meat main courses, spiced recipes, lamb, game and matured cheese.

Manufacturer

Situated in Canale and in the heart of the Roero area, Monchiero Carbone winery has been founded in 1987. Marco Monchiero, a well-known enologist, and his wife Lucetta Carbone decided to unite the plots of their two families, who began to make wine at the beginning of 1900 and stopped a few years ago. The production of wine restarted in 1990, also because of the son Francesco who began to have enological studies. In the last years, the estate has grown up, thanks to the implantation of new vineyards: one of Arneis grapes on the Renesio hill, in Canale, and another one of nebbiolo grapes in the Anime hamlet. Mombirone and Printi vineyards, which are families propriety from many years, has been doubled.
