The Nebbiolo d'Alba Roccheri by Marchesi di Barolo is a Piedmontese red wine with a classic style, very pleasant and well balanced. Aged for a few months in oak barrels, it has a beautiful ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, the bouquet is broad and elegant, floral and fruity, with notes of wild berries, violets and spicy roses, which give way to hints of sweet spices on the finish. On the palate, it is enveloping and intense, well balanced and structured, characterized by soft tannins. The Nebbiolo d'Alba Roccheri by Marchesi di Barolo is perfect to drink in combination with cold cuts, Albese raw meat and aged cheeses.
The history of the Cantine dei Marchesi di Barolo begins in 1807, when Carlo Tancredi Falletti married the French noblewoman Juliette Colbert di Maulévrier. Juliette immediately sensed the potential of growing the Nebbiolo vine on the gentle hills of the Langhe, thanks to the particular soil and microclimate. She also built magnificent underground cellars and bought large fine oak barrels, some of which, thanks to constant maintenance, are still used today. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the Cantine dei Marchesi di Barolo were taken over by Pietro Abbona. After 6 generations they are still managed by the Abbona family. The objective of the Abbona family is to guarantee the typicality of the different vines and the characteristics of each vineyard, combining tradition and innovation for the production of wines of absolute quality.
