More info

The Barolo Coste di Rose by Marchesi di Barolo is produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown on the prestigious Coste di Rose hill in the Municipality of Barolo, characterized by a perfect exposure to the east and a considerable slope. After aging in oak barrels of different capacities for at least 18 months, the Barolo Coste di Rose has a beautiful ruby red color tending towards garnet. The nose is striking for its intense and fine bouquet, on which hints of rose, licorice, spices, aromatic herbs and wild mint stand out. On the palate it is full and elegant, with good body and structure, well balanced. It is a wine that can be appreciated immediately. The Barolo Coste di Rose by Marchesi di Barolo is perfect to drink in combination with tagliatelle with meat sauce, veal with tuna sauce, roasts and hard cheeses.

Manufacturer

The history of the Cantine dei Marchesi di Barolo begins in 1807, when Carlo Tancredi Falletti married the French noblewoman Juliette Colbert di Maulévrier. Juliette immediately sensed the potential of growing the Nebbiolo vine on the gentle hills of the Langhe, thanks to the particular soil and microclimate. She also built magnificent underground cellars and bought large fine oak barrels, some of which, thanks to constant maintenance, are still used today. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the Cantine dei Marchesi di Barolo were taken over by Pietro Abbona. After 6 generations they are still managed by the Abbona family. The objective of the Abbona family is to guarantee the typicality of the different vines and the characteristics of each vineyard, combining tradition and innovation for the production of wines of absolute quality.
