Description

Vistamare is an elegant white wine from the Ca’ Marcanda estate of the Gaja family, in Bolgheri, Tuscany. Its name evokes sunny days along the Tyrrhenian coast and reflects the location of the vineyards, some of which overlook the sea. A refined, full-bodied Mediterranean white that beautifully expresses the character of its terroir. It is made from a blend of Vermentino, Viognier and Fiano, grape varieties grown in the estate’s vineyards between Bolgheri and Bibbona. The freshness and herbal notes of Vermentino blend harmoniously with the aromatic richness and roundness of Viognier, while Fiano contributes delicate floral and botanical nuances. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and aged for approximately six months in a combination of stainless steel tanks and oak. In the glass, it displays a luminous straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections. The bouquet is intense and generous, offering aromas of peach and apricot, white flowers, citrus fruits and sage, accompanied by delicate herbal notes and evocative hints of the sea. On the palate, it is fresh, smooth and inviting, with ripe, juicy fruit beautifully balanced by vibrant acidity. Its pleasant savoury minerality carries through to a long, elegant and persistent finish, marked by a distinctive Mediterranean character. A highly versatile white wine, ideal with fish dishes, shellfish, molluscs, seafood, Mediterranean-style pasta dishes and fresh or mildly aged cheeses.
