In the glass it is garnet red with orange shades. The bouquet is floral, with hints of ripe forest fruits, blackberry, dried rose and violet. The sip is elegant, subtle, with a charming tannic texture. Barolo by Bartolo Mascarello is recommended with roasts or braised main courses, game, or drunk alone as meditation wine.
The winery Bartolo Mascarello was born in 1918 when Giulio, survivor of the First World War, he returned to Barolo and abandoned the Cantina Sociale. He decided to set up on one's own and to become of wine producer. He made many sacrifices and he succeed to buy some vineyards situated in particularly prestigious region like Cannubi, San Lorenzo and Ruè. In the sixties his son Bartolo, ex-partisan and mayor of Barolo, went into business; he increased the wine production without modifying the way to make wine of his father. Today the winery is managed by his daughter Maria Teresa, which produces only one label of Barolo.
