CONTRADA P Passopisciaro 2018

The Rosso Contrada P of Passopisciaro is a noble and complex red wine produced with 100% of Nerello Mascalese grapes grown in the cru of Contrada Porcaria, from old vineyards whose average age is around 80 years on the slopes of Etna. Produced with grapes harvested by hand, the wine shows an intense ruby red color while in the nose it expresses fruity aromas with notes of ripe fruit such as cherry, blackberry and raspberry and spices on the finish. A red wine of great balance and structure, in the mouth it is rich and complex, characterized by a good crispness and a persistent finish. The Contrada P of Passopisciaro is ideal to drink in combination with pasta with meat or vegetable sauce, or with roast or grilled meat.

The Passopisciaro winery is one of the properties of Andrea Franchetti, made from the renovation of an ancient “baglio” on the slopes of Etna, in the city of Castiglione di Sicilia. Thanks to the sunny climate and the excellent temperature range, excellent wines are produced mainly based on Nerello Mascalese.
