Description

The Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 2025 by Giovanni Almondo is a youthful and fragrant expression of Nebbiolo, while still maintaining a clear territorial identity linked to the sandy and mineral soils of the Roero. It is a wine that focuses on balance between expressive immediacy and varietal finesse, offering an elegant, smooth, and clearly recognisable profile. Vinification involves fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, with a maceration on the skins lasting around 10–12 days, aimed at a gentle extraction of colour, aromas, and fine tannins. Malolactic fermentation is fully completed, helping to soften the structure. Aging lasts about 8 months, mainly in stainless steel and partly in neutral vessels or non-invasive oak, in order to preserve fruit freshness and aromatic transparency. In the glass, it shows a bright and luminous ruby red colour. The bouquet is fine and direct: crisp cherry, raspberry, and small red berries intertwine with floral notes of violet and rosehip, followed by a lightly spicy nuance and a subtle earthy-mineral touch typical of the grape variety. On the palate, it is dry, harmonious, and highly drinkable, with elegant, well-integrated tannins that support a fresh, flowing texture. The finish is clean, fruity, and slightly savoury, with good persistence. At the table, it shows great versatility, pairing naturally with flavourful pasta dishes, light white and red meats, cured meats, medium-aged cheeses, and traditional Piedmontese cuisine. An essential and modern Nebbiolo that combines everyday drinkability with varietal elegance, expressing the identity of the grape in a direct and immediate way.
